A: You need a Cardio Fitness Exam
A: You need a Cardio Fitness Exam
When you complete your Cardio Fitness Exam (CFE) you will be given your performance in number of Maximum METs.
To convert the above Maximum METs to Vo2 Max (maximum oxygen uptake) use the following equation:
METs * 3.5 = Vo2 (ml/kg/min)
Example:
10 METs * 3.5 = 35 ml/kg/min
To convert the above Maximum METs to Vo2 Max (maximum oxygen uptake) use the following equation:
METs * 3.5 = Vo2 (ml/kg/min)
Example:
10 METs * 3.5 = 35 ml/kg/min
If you are a male age 55 and you performed 10METs which translates to a Vo2 Max of 35 ml/kg/min, your fitness level would be AVERAGE
If you are a female age 45 and you performed 13 METs on your CFE/Stress Test which translates to a Vo2 Max of 45.5 ml/kg/min, your fitness level would be EXCELLENT
